Tour of Boynton Hall and Bridlington Priory
29 April @ 10:30 am - 4:00 pm
£42Boynton Hall is an interesting house with a complex building history. Originally mid-6th century, it was altered and enlarged in the 18th century partly to the designs of Lord Burlington and later probably John Carr. Starting with coffee we will have a tour of this rarely-opened house, with the owner. Using your own transport, we will then drive the 3.3 miles to Bridlington, where we will have a soup and sandwich lunch in the Priory Rooms, next to the 13th century Priory Church. After lunch we will have a tour of the present church, which post- Reformation, using the nave of the monastic building, became the parish church. We will also visit the Bayle, a museum in the original Gatehouse of the Priory.
Cost £42 to include tours, donations & lunch.
