Visit Burton Agnes Hall
19 July @ 10:30 am - 3:30 pm
£25Burton Agnes, built between 1598 and 1610, probably to the designs of Robert Smythson, has been described as the perfect Elizabethan house. Not only is it interesting architecturally but it contains a striking collection of French Impressionist paintings and contemporary furniture and works of art. There is also a superb Walled Garden, which should be looking its best in July. Adjacent to the Hall are the Norman Manor House (EH free entry) and 12th century church, which are both worth visiting. Refreshments can be obtained at the café at the Hall or bring a picnic.
Cost: £25 to include entrance and guided tour.
Own transport, 33 miles from York, bus 2 hours from York. If sufficient demand a coach could be booked £26pp, minimum 20 people.
