Visit World of Wedgwood, Stoke Museum, Derby Art Gallery

*** Fully booked *** Leaving York from Memorial Gardens at 8 30am., we will drive by coach to the World of Wedgwood for lunch followed by a tour of their extensive Museum, run by the V & A and featuring York’s own John Flaxman. There will then be time to explore the whole site with its many retail opportunities. Hotel accommodation has been booked at Upper House Hotel, Barlaston, originally built for Josiah Wedgwood’s grandson, where we will stay on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis. The following morning, we will visit Stoke Museum and Art Gallery’s extensive ceramic collection and the Staffordshire Hoard, before lunch and leaving for Derby and the opportunity to see, with a guide, the newly refurbished gallery containing the work of Joseph Wright. Cost: £280 to include travel, lunch at World of Wedgwood, accommodation, breakfast and £30 towards cost of dinner. Deposit £50 to be paid on booking. Balance payable May 31st.
